Digital Storytelling
Through reading the articles for this week's class, I found a refreshing and new technology that I can use hopefully in my future classroom, digital storytelling. In my senior year of my undergraduate career, I had to make a digital storyboard for my social studies for educators course. When reading the article, 7 things you should know about... Digital Storytelling, I found that it reflected my experience of using the digital storyboard that I created previously. It was a group project that we had to complete about an aspect of our state history museum. I remember that it gave my field trip to the museum a purpose and made me pay closer attention to the information that was throughout the exhibits. Knowing that prior to going to the museum that I would need to be paying closer attention to the 'copper mining' aspect of the museum, made me more aware and conscious. Once our group got together to make our storyboard, it was quite time consuming. Granted it was our first time creating a storyboard. It was all of our group members' first time making a storyboard and we did not know what to expect. What we found was the most difficult was using our audio snippets and blending them into our piece and making sure that it all worked correctly. Another problem that arose was trying to upload our storyboard the TeacherTube website. On the other hand, our group and myself found this experience very cool and we learned a lot about digital storytelling. I hope that when I have a classroom that I will be able to integrate it into my instruction throughout the year.

Robert - your example sounds like something your group could use to do a field-based experience activity! Very cool.
